Webber Law Firm, LLC
Services Services Webber Law Firm, LLC, advises organizations and individuals on employment-based and family-based immigration matters. We are generally retained by Legal Departments, Human Resources Departments, Administrators and/or Executive Staff. We are sometimes retained directly by foreign nationals.

We work with students, professionals, managers, executives, and highly specialized technical personnel. We also work with people who happened to fall in love with someone born outside the United States.

Although we are based in Minnesota, our clients live and work throughout the United States and the world. We try to always provide pro-active, responsive, and creative advice, providing our services in a customized way, depending on a client's specific needs. We have experience advising very large international organizations as well as start-up companies. We have represented clients in a wide variety of industries, having substantial expertise with software, information technology (IT), and communications technology companies. We are pleased to work with a number of foreign companies who have established a presence in the United States, including working with companies who are just entering the U.S. market. We seek to meet client objectives in a timely and cost-effective manner. We believe in the importance of communicating to all parties on how things are progressing and managing expectations in what can be a frustrating and sometimes time-consuming endeavor (seeking a U.S. immigration benefit).

The following is a representative list of the kinds of matters we handle:

  • Temporary U.S. work visas, including obtaining H-1B, L-1, TN, R-1, O-1, and E visas. Obtaining temporary work visas can be challenging, given the strict regulatory standards, annual limits, and Byzantine filing requirements.

  • Permanent visas (green cards) through employment, including processing cases pursuant to PERM labor certification standards, as well as seeking exemptions from PERM for Outstanding Researchers, Aliens of Extraordinary Ability, Investors, Intracompany Transferee Managers and Executives, and Religious Workers.

  • Permanent visas (green cards) through family relationships, including marriage-based cases using the K-1 fiancé visa or K-3 spouse visa.

  • Permanent visas (green cards) through the DV Diversity Lottery.

  • Naturalization (citizenship) cases, including strategies to obtain exemptions from physical presence and residence requirements for certain qualified individuals who have spent long periods abroad.

  • Corporate Immigration Policy Development, including Best Practices for compliance, and training of H.R. personnel on I-9 compliance.

  • Foreign visa facilitation – assisting U.S. companies obtain foreign visas at foreign consulates in the United States, for short term visits, or longer work assignments abroad. We have coordinated visa applications to Canadian, Mexican, British, Australian, Hong Kong, Chinese, Dutch, German, and Spanish consulates, retaining local counsel where appropriate.

  • Ancillary issues, like procedures for obtaining Social Security Numbers (SSNs), tax ID numbers, work permits, and driver's licenses, which are increasingly complex due to post-9/11 security measures.

  • The Webber Law Firm is prepared to work rapidly and creatively for all our clients, including new clients. Thank you for taking time to consider our firm.
